Christina Noring Hammond first joined the Vassar Faculty in 1963 after earning an M.S. in chemistry from Vassar. She became Coordinator of Laboratory Instruction for general chemistry and organic chemistry in 1981. Her current work centers on developing new experiments for these courses and several of her experiments have been published in the Journal of Chemical Education.

Ms. Hammond is co-author of a laboratory text entitled EXPERIMENTAL ORGANIC CHEMISTRY A BALANCED APPROACH: MACROSCALE AND MICROSCALE published by W. H. Freeman in 1998 and is presently working on the second edition.
