Sarjit Kaur earned her M.S. and Ph.D. in Chemistry from Vassar College and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), respectively.

Dr. Kaur joined the Chemistry Department at Vassar in 1995 after a postdoctoral fellowship at RPI. Her research interests in polymer chemistry include the study of sulfonated polymers as proton exchange membranes, synthesis and characterization of biodegradable poly(anhydrides), characterization of novel amide mimics and synthesis of unique fluorinated styrene and parylene monomers. Her work has been published in Macromolecules and Polymer Science.

Dr. Kaur’s teaching interests include organic chemistry, introduction to polymers, and advanced organic chemistry.
